Session Rules & Mat Code

Respect the mats. Look after your brothers. Make every session a safe place to learn.

Fridays · 7:30 PM
Arrive by 7:20 PM. Walk-ins are welcome—register at the door before stepping onto the mat.

01 / Registration & entry

Everyone must complete the registration form before joining a session. Walk-ins can register at the door. Speak to the organiser before stepping onto the mat.

02 / Arrive ready to train

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the Friday 7:30 PM start so you can prepare and attend the warm-up and safety briefing. If you are late, wait for the coach’s permission to join.

03 / Payments & missed sessions

Session payments and passes are non-transferable. If you choose not to attend, missed sessions are not refunded or rolled over, except where required by law. Your statutory rights are unaffected. See our Terms & Conditions for cancellations and refunds.

04 / Jewellery & belongings

Remove all jewellery, watches, rings, piercings and hard hair accessories before entering the mat area. Keep personal belongings off the mats and walkways.

05 / Hygiene & equipment

  • Nails: Keep fingernails and toenails short and clean.
  • Footwear: No outdoor shoes on the mats. Wear slides or shoes when walking off the mat, especially when using toilets.
  • Clothing: Wear clean athletic gear: a rashguard or T-shirt with shorts or spats. No metal zips, buckles or other hard fittings.
  • Cleanliness: Wash your training kit after each session and arrive with clean skin.
  • Illness or skin concerns: Do not train with a suspected contagious illness or skin infection. Let the coach know about cuts or injuries before training.

06 / Safety & conduct

  • Tap early: Tap physically or say “tap” clearly. Release immediately when your partner taps or calls for a stop.
  • Leave ego at the door: No bullying, intimidation or deliberately aggressive training. Unsafe behaviour can result in immediate removal.
  • Train at an agreed pace: Communicate with your partner, respect differences in experience and follow the coach’s instructions.
  • Stay within the session’s rules: Only practise techniques the coach has permitted for your level. Stop immediately if asked.
  • Respect everyone: Bring humility, good manners and care for your brothers onto the mats.

Removal for unsafe conduct does not automatically entitle you to a refund. Any decision remains subject to your statutory rights and the circumstances.
